Shooting : Young Indian champions lead at ISSF Junior World Cup in Germany

Young Indian shooters are winning accolades for the country in ISSF Junior World Cup in Germany. Because of the hard work and determination of these young champs India is at the top medal of standing beating China, Russia, USA and France among others.


After ruling the Air Refiles events earlier Indian shooters have won medals in pistol events today. The young musketeers are keeping the country on top. Here is the current medal standings after 13 out of 22 events at Suhl World Cup.



India has won total 14 medals in the world cup out of which three are gold. In comparison China has won 12 medals but out of which one is gold.

India’s 18-year-old shooter Elavenil Valarivan won the tight duel with People’s Republic of China’s 18-year-old Wang Zeru, securing her second consecutive Junior World Cup gold medal.




India’s 16-year-old Hriday Hazarika won gold in the 10m Air Rifle Men Junior event, adding his success to the one signed a few hours earlier by his teammate Elavenil Valarivan.



In the 10m Air Pistol Men Junior final, India’s Saurabh Chaudhary signed a fantastic gold medal-World Record combination at the end of an exciting final, where he duelled with and prevailed over Republic of Korea’s Lim Hojin and People’s Republic of China’s Wang Zhehao, who respectively took silver and bronze.
