Dish of the Day: Rajma Masala

The humble Rajma is the dish even the celebrities crave for. People of all ages love it and it is easy to cook. Pair it with hot steaming rice to win hearts.

Ingredients:

1.5 cups Kidney beans (soaked overnight then boiled with salt)

2 large onion (finely chopped)

1 cup tomato puree

Coriander powder 3 tsp

Zeera powder 1.5 tsp

Kashmiri chilli powder 2 tsp

Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp

Oil 4 tbsp

Salt to taste

Coriander leaves finely chopped

Preparation:

  1. Heat oil in a pan
  2. Add chopped onion and saute on a low medium heat until it turns light brown
  3. Add zeera powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder
  4. Then add tomato puree (you will get the right texture of Rajma if you use puree)
  5. Add boiled Rajma and water (left over water in which you boiled Rajma) mix it and allow it to cook till you feel the texture is right in a low flame
  6. Garnish it with fresh coriander leaves

Enjoy it with steamed rice or zeera rice
