Government imposed section 144 in Dholpur, Bharatpur and Karauli districts of Rajasthan on Sunday after Gujjar agitation in the state took violent turn.
In Dholpur protestors clashed with police and pelted stone on passing vehicles. Police had to fire tear gas to disperse the crowd. The protestors also reportedly misbehaved with people travelling in private cars and torched vehicles in some places.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot told media that some miscreants got mixed up with the protestors and caused problems. He told the protestors to listen to their leader Kirori Singh Bainsla who also has appealed for peace.
Twelve trains were diverted and around 26 were canceled due to the ongoing agitation. Senior police officers in the state held meeting to assess security situation.
