IFFCO elects Balvinder Singh Nakai as Chairman; Dileep Sanghani as Vice Chairman

Cooperative major IFFCO Friday elected Balvinder Singh Nakai as its Chairman and Dileep Sanghani as Vice Chairman.

The election was held at the 48th Annual General Body meeting of the Indian farmers fertiliser Cooperative (Iffco) here.

The election for 21 directors was also held after the meeting. These 21 directors voted for the position of Chairman and Vice Chairman of Iffco, a statement said.

Balvinder Singh Nakai is a farmer – co-operator – who has been deeply involved in providing strength to Indian cooperative movement for the last three decades.

He is currently Chairman of Malwa Fruit and Vegetable Cooperative Marketing-cum-Procurement Society Limited. He has earlier served as Vice Chairman of Iffco for two terms.

Dileep Sanghani is Chairman of Gujarat State Cooperative Marketing Federation Limited.

Who Is B.S Nakai

Balvinder Singh Nakai is an eminent farmer – co-operator who has been deeply involved in providing strength to Indian Cooperative Movement for the last three decades. He is currently the Chairman of Malwa Fruit and Vegetable Cooperative Marketing-cum-Procurement Society Limited.

He has earlier served as Vice Chairman of IFFCO for two terms. Being a farmer himself, Mr. Nakai has been instrumental in formulating Farmers oriented policies of IFFCO.

IFFCO is one of the biggest cooperatives in the world with a turnover of INR 27852 Crore (in FY 2018-19). With five state of the art plants IFFCO produces MT of fertilisers. It produced 81.49 Lakh MT of fertilisers. It’s five state of the art fertiliser manufacturing plants in India and its inclusive business model, IFFCO reaches to over 5.5 crore farmers in India.

IFFCO contributes to around 36% of Phosphatic and 21% of Nitrogenous fertilisers produced in India and was ranked first amongst the Top 300 Cooperatives in the world (by Turnover on GDP per capita basis) by the World Cooperative Monitor report. With presence in Senegal, Oman, Dubai and Jordan.

IFFCO is today a global ‘Indian’ cooperative and is spreading the Nobel ideals of cooperation and inclusiveness all over the globe. Besides Fertilisers, IFFCO has diversified into sectors like General Insurance, Rural Mobile telephony, Oil and Gas and international trading amongst others.
