Senior officials of three Indian forces held press conference here today and assured the nation that they are ready to face any eventuality. The forces also presented some evidences which exposed lies of Pakistani army.
Major General Surender Singh Bahal from Army, Rear Admiral Dalbir Singh Gujral from Navy and Air Vice Marshal RGK Kapoor from Indian Air force held the press conference.
Air Vice Marshal RGK Kapoor said that on 27 February around 10:00 a.m. IAF radars detected a large package of Pakistan Air Force Aircraft heading towards the Indian territory towards general area Jhangar.
Air Vice Marshal Kapoor said that they breached the Indian airspace west of Rajauri in Sunderbani area. He said that the ingressing Aircraft were observed to be at various levels. IAF fighters including Indian Su-30 MKI, MiG-21, Bison and Mirage-2000 were sent to intercept.
Air Vice Marshal Kapoor made it clear that the Pak Aircrafts attempted to target military installations in India but IAF thwarted their plans. “Although PAF bombs have fallen in Indian Army Formation Compounds they were unable to cause any damage to our Military Installations,’ added Air Vice Marshal Kapoor.
He also confirmed the Pakistan’s F-16 was shot down by IAF MiG-21 Bison. “The F-16 crashed and fell across the LoC in POJ&K (Pak Occupied Jammu and Kashmir).”
Vice Marshal Kapoor also confirmed that IAF lost one MiG-21 in the aerial engagement. “Though the pilot ejected safely his parachute drifted to POJ&K where he was taken into custody by Pakistan Army,” he added.
Vice Marshal Kapoor also exposed some of the lies peddled by Pakistani Army. He said that first lie was that two Indian aircrafts were shot by IAF and three pilots were downed. He said that Pakistan later revised and accepted the truth that they have one Indian pilot only.
He said that second Pakistani lie was that they intentionally dropped weapons in open space where there was no human presence. He said that the fact is that they targeted military installations however, IAF thwarted their plans.
IAF also said that Pakistan’s third lie was F-16 was not used in the operation. IAF presented evidence before the media proving that Pakistan used F-16 and Pakistani media is showing their own F-16 parts calling it an Indian Air Force Aircraft.
IAF displayed parts of the AMRAAM fired from an F 16 that was recovered from Rajouri. He said that they also have electronic signature of the F-16.
He added that IAF is happy and looks forward to return of Wing Commander Abhinandan tomorrow. When asked by a journalist if they are grateful of Pakistan, he said that IAF is happy that Wing Commander Abhinandan is being returned as per Geneva convention.
Indian Army Major General Surender Singh Bahal said Pakistan resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violations along the line of control after the Balakot strike. Bahal said that Pakistan targeted a brigade headquarter, a battalion headquarter, forward defences and a Lgs installation, but due to immediate and punitive response their designs were foiled.
Ground based defence systems are on high alert, mechanized forces on alert. We are ready to respond to Pakistan in any manner. We are committed to peace but will act against any designs against India.
“We continue to maintain strict vigil along the LoC and IB sector,” Major General Bahal said. “I wish to assure the nation that we are fully prepared and in a heightened state of readiness to respond to any provocation by Pakistan,” he added.
Rear admiral Dalbir Singh Gujral from Indian Navy said that that the Navy is in “high state of readiness.” “I can assure you of a resolute, swift and strong response when needed,” he added.
