India’s Train 18 hits 180 km per hour speed on trial run

Mumbai:

Indian Railways engine-less train, Train 18, hit 180 km per hour record on its trial run from Delhi-Mumbai Rajdhani route.

The train is indigenously designed and built at Integral Coach Factory (ICF) Chennai. With this record Train 18 has become India’s fastest train.

General Manager of Integral Coach Factory Sudhanshu Mani expressed hope that ‘Train 18’ will commence its commercial run from January next year.

Piyush Goyal tweeted a video of this trial run saying. “Train 18 exceeds 180kmph during trial. The stability of water bottles at this speed is testament to the quality of workmanship and design of our engineers.”

 

The train has the capacity of reaching up to 200 KM per hour. The trial run of Train 18 will end in a month.
