Thousands turn out to offer Eid prayers peacefully across Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu/Srinagar:

Thousands of people across Jammu and Kashmir offered Eid prayers peacefully in the state without any untoward incident.

Ministry of Home Affairs said that Eid prayers were offered peacefully in all local mosques of Anantnag, Baramulla, Budgam, Bandipore, without any untoward incident. According to MHA approximate 10,000 people offer prayers at Jamia masjid in old town Baramulla.

Images of people offering prayers and sharing sweets are coming from all across the state. Good number of people came out to offer Eid prayers at prominent mosques in Srinagar and Shopian. Over 4,500 came out to offer prayers at Eidgah Jammu as well.

Kashmir police has also confirmed that Eid prayers concluded peacefully in various parts of the valley and no untoward incident reported so far.

Meanwhile, security forces are helping common people in Kashmir to make calls to their loved ones in various parts of the country and abroad.

On Sunday, people came out in large number to shop for Eid in busy market areas.
